Day 23

Elements project returned. Review grading. See me for individual questions.

Period 1:

PLEASE Partner up.2 rolls per tank.
Label the tank with your name & period on a piece of tape.
Each couple should gather components for reeling.
1 per couple (tank, 2 reels, inner tube, top, red/blue lid, scissors,can opener)
You have all period to reel.

Bring everything out.
Throw away trash, put can opener & scissors away.


If you cannot get it-place loos film in your tank with no reels.
Make sure top is screwed on straight and tight.
Lid should also be on, BEFORE you come out.
You must come in during lunch, after school or before school to reel it.
Regardless, WE WILL DEVELOP the next day.

Done early? Finish Chapter 4 study guide and begin chapter questions on printmaking.

Period 2:Half of you will reel, the other:

Now that you have...
Tabs Yourself, Friend 1 & Friend 2 complete with totals
Type in the totals of each of those tabs in the Your Averages tabs
Find the Average of each category

Chart 1

  • Select all EXCEPT averages.
  • Insert, Column, 1st 3D or 2D Column, Pick the 1st Chart Layout 
  • Title it Your First Name Elements Project


Chart 2

  • Select Focus through Depth
  • Hold down on Ctrl and select the averages
  • Insert, Column, 1st 3D or 2D  Column, Pick the 2nd Chart Layout 
  • Title it Your First Name Last Name Averages


Make sure Charts are lined up below you data.
Click on an empty cell.
Print Preview, you should see your data and 2 charts on one page
Print it out.

Now pick your best 4 pictures for the following elements:

  1. LINE
  2. SHAPE
  3. VALUE
  4. TEXTURE

Label the back with your initials, period & what element.

Yesterday, you should have:

  • Copied & Pasted your PPT. to the DROPBOX
  • Printed Slides 1-8 and turned it in to me.
          See day 15 for complete directions.

Today:-Excel Handout. (Why we are doing this and only refer to #3 on the 1st page).

  • Go to J:\WNHS\Dropbox\Gingerich\Photography 1
  • Right Click "COPY" Elements Data Template
  • Go to your My Docs or flash drive and "PASTE" it in there
  • Rename (PeriodFirstInitialLastNameS2013) i.e.1VGingerichS2013
  • On tab "Yourself" Input the numbers on the back of your photos
  • Proceed to evaluate each photo based on the criteria on the front page of the packet.
  • Then switch spots with a friend (keep photos and data at each computer)
  • Switch one more time. 
GOAL for today: Complete "Yourself" & Start "Friend 1"

I will continue to meet individually with each of you regarding your Elements Project.

By the end-of-the-period:
2. Print Slides 1-8 as handouts (directions on slide 8 notes on the bottom)
    TO PRINT SLIDES AS HANDOUTS:
    Select the Printer in the correct room-your teacher will announce this.
    Print Range: Slides: Type in 1-8  this way you are not printing all 16 slides L
    Print what : Choose Handouts
    Handouts: 4 Slides per Page.

3. Turning in to the DROPBOX 
 You cannot save directly into the DROP BOX
 Make sure your PPT is titled "Period1st initialLastname2013"
 i.e. 1VGingerich2013
 Right click "COPY" from your flash drive or My Docs

 GO to My Computer\J:\WNHS\Dropbox\Gingerich\Photography 1\Period 2
 Select Period 1 or Period 2
 The Right Click "PASTE" into the Period Folder

Before "PASTING" into the DROPBOX, make sure that 
1. PPT is complete. (the newest version of your PPT.)
2. It is titled correctly
3. Make sure to COPY & PASTE into DROPBOX
4. Afterwards, hover over the icon and check to make sure that it does not say OKB

   Backside: F-stops/Shutter Speeds, Law of Reciprocity,Sunny 16 Rule

  You are receiving 2 sheet protectors: 
  1-Put camera profile in (every time you turn in pictures, you will put it in this)
  2-for extra storage (pictures & test strips-you will accumulate a lot)

  Put them in your binder for safekeeping.
